As per the recent announcement, Aadhaar card can now be used in place of PAN card. The PAN card was mandatory to fill in the ITR, but now those who do not have a PAN card can use the Aadhaar card.   1. Those who do not have PAN card can file tax returns, ITR by giving Aadhaar card number.
  2. You can provide Aadhaar number instead of PAN number when cash transactions exceed 50 thousand rupees. You can also give An Aadhaar number if you deposit more than Rs 50,000 in the bank.
  3. Give an Aadhaar number on a bill of any kind for a cash payment of Rs 50,000 or Rs 50,000 spent on travelling abroad.
  4. The insurance company can provide Aadhaar number on a premium payment of Rs. 50,000.
  5. You can give an Aadhaar number if you buy gold worth more than Rs 2 lakh.
  6. Four wheeler (four wheel) vehicles can provide Aadhaar number when purchased.
  7. You can provide an Aadhaar number for a credit card application.
  8. Provide Aadhaar number when you buy shares of more than Rs 1 lakh without a listed company.
  9. You can give Aadhaar number if you buy immovable property worth more than Rs 10 lakh.
  10. Give Aadhaar number on mutual fund investment and sale of shares.

All these rules have been in use since the government implemented the Finance Bill. All these can be done in places where the PAN card was being used earlier.
