How to Recover the Lost Aadhar UID And EID Number

In case you have lost or lost your Aadhar Unique Identification Number (UID) or Enrollment ID (EID), you can retrieve it by following the steps below.

Step by Step Guide to Recover Lost Aadhar

On the UIDAI website, existing Aadhar card holders and applicants who have recently enrolled, can submit their lost Aadhar UID / EID recovery request.

Step 1: Log in to the official UIDAI website where the issuing authority of Aadhar has made several online services available to the public.


Step 2: Then, click on the option 'Retrieve Lost UID / EID', which will redirect you to a new page.


Step 3: Choose any of these two options:
a) Retrieve the Aadhar number (UID)
b) Retrieve the Enrollment number of Aadhar (EID).

Step 4: Complete the name, email ID or mobile phone number as mentioned on the Aadhar Enrollment form and the Aadhar card. Enter the Captcha for verification.

Step 5: click on the 'Send OTP' button. After receiving the OTP, enter it for verification.

Step 6: Post the verification, the Aadhar number or the Enrollment ID will be sent to your registered email ID or mobile phone number.

Those who have not registered their mobile phone number / email ID with their Aadhar card, should visit the nearest permanent registration center to obtain the EID or UID number.
