How to Link Aadhar to Your Airtel Number Using a Toll Free Number?
The interactive voice response (IVR) method allows users to link their Aadhar to their mobile numbers through the consent provision of UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) using their registered mobile phone number. Note that to take advantage of this installation:
You need to have your phone number registered with UIDAI.
Your number must be the same state as your Aadhar address. (You have to visit Airtel's store if it's not the same)
Steps:
- Call toll free number 14546.
- The IVR will ask for your consent to verify your Aadhar through UIDAI under the Aadhar Law, 2016.
- Upon receiving your consent, Airtel will send your number to UIDAI, and UIDAI will verify the registration of your number with them. Then an OTP (one-time password) will be sent to the registered number.
- Airtel will ask for your consent to verify personal details such as name, date of birth, etc. Present your OTP. The OTP will be treated as your signature for consent.
- Upon receiving your UIDAI data, the IVR will ask if you want to enter an alternative number. Do it if there is any.
- A successful verification message will be played.
- After 24 hours, you should receive a message requesting confirmation of your data before they update or overwrite any information. If you do not respond within 3 days, the verification will be considered positive.
