Order Aadhaar print — officially from UIDAI

It is now possible to obtain our Aadhaar card officially printed by the Unique Identification Authority of India - UIDAI. UIDAI has started to reprint Aadhaar cards on a pilot basis. This move, obtaining the Aadhaar card directly from UIDIAI, will help people seeking Aadhaar reprint centers.

Your Aadhaar card will be printed and shipped to the address on the card.

Officials of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) have warned people not to share their Aadhaar number or personal data with unauthorized agencies to laminate it or print it on a plastic card.

UIDAI had said that having a paper card from Aadhaar was enough. "There is no concept like the Aadhaar smart card," said UIDAI Director General and mission director Ajay Bhushan Pandey.

Although UIDAI had said that the Downloaded version of Aadhaar or eAadhaar was a valid document, there was a great demand for the 'original' card sent by UIDAI. There were also complaints that some utility companies were reluctant to accept impressions from eAadhaar. UIDAI had also said that just because Aadhaar cards in the form of plastic or laminated cards could not be called 'original' Aadhaar.

Although there were centers authorized by UIDAI to print Aadhaar cards, there were reports of several illegal "printing" centers charging exorbitant fees for printing the card. There were also the associated security risks of people giving out OTP and personal details like phone numbers and addresses to download and print Aadhaar cards at the centers.
